Description

The pipa generally has four strings, from thin to thick, namely the sub-string, the middle string, the old string, and the winding string.
Pipa strings are made of various materials, including nylon strings, steel strings and silk strings. Nylon strings have a soft tone and are suitable for beginners; wire strings have a bright tone and are suitable for music that requires a high pitch; and silk strings have a simple tone and are often used in traditional music.
